Nice
Dice are made from various casting resins which we set in our own
original silicon rubber moulds. A huge range of colours is available
by the addition of different colour pigments. Depending how we mix
those colours, we can produce marbled, striped or patchwork patterns.
By lining the mould beforehand with glitter, we can make speckled
dice. By adding finely ground metal instead of pigment, we can produce
coldcast metal dice which are virtually indistinguishable from solid
metal.
While
these dice are not produced to the accuracy of casino dice, they
are as random as any regular dice you are likely to purchase with
a board game or backgammon set.
We
have a basic stock of 18 patterns which we try to have available
at all times. You can make up a set using any number or combination
of these dice, or you can choose one of the preselected sets. Examples
of all these dice are featured on the nice dice showcase page (use
one of the links above - we suggest "open in new browser window"
for this one as it's a particularly large download). We also occasionally
produce one-off production runs of different patterns, and if you
wish to have as varied a selection as possible, leave the choice
to us and we will include some of these in the selection. When choosing
your dice from the showcase, make a note of the order codes and
please don't forget to include them when ordering.
Please
note: Unlike a leopard, we DO change our spots.... and the colours
and patterns of our dice. Because every die we make is unique, individual
dice WILL vary from those shown in photos. However, when you order
a matching set, say 6 purple marbled dice, we will ensure that they
all come from the same production run so that although the pattern
will vary, they will all have the exact same shade of purple and
approximately the same colour distribution.
